'Mediation is necessary to help us come back to our life, to make our life more meaningful, more alive in order to become a more compassionate, happier person'. Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche
Ripa Awareness Meditation is open to everyone who is looking for peace and calmness, and who wishes to connect the mind with the heart, who values a balanced life and wishes to overcome emotional disturbances, as well as develop loving kindness and compassion.
This practice has been transmitted from teacher to student for 2,500 years. It consists of shamatha and vipassana meditation.
Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche is a widely known realized Buddhist teacher who teaches Ripa Awareness Meditation to anyone who is ready to connect with this ancient wisdom, in order to create more calmness and clarity in their life.
Jigme Rinpoche is a holder of two transmission lineages. He is the head of two monasteries in India and Nepal and six Buddhist centers all over the world. He is actively engaged in social life. He runs projects on cleaning rivers in India, rebuilds villages destroyed by the earthquakes in Nepal, helps elderly people, poor people, and refugees in eastern countries. He does all this apart from his main occupation as a Dharma Teacher and a Buddhist practitioner, which includes giving teachings in the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Russia, France, Spain, Japan, Bhutan and other countries. Rinpoche also writes books, goes on pilgrimages, and undertakes long retreats.
In 2017 Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche founded a school for Ripa Awareness Meditation instructors in Switzerland in the Ripa International Centre.
